“Lots of people think they are falling asleep when they first start a meditation practice. That’s because they are slipping into a different state of consciousness and it can feel very much like sleep. This is why having some training is so important. With the proper guidance, you'll learn how to distinguish between the two. Short answer: if you fall out of the chair, you probably fell asleep. If you're still upright, then it's most likely meditation.”
